Well it’s not really about petrol prices but Dawn got a new bike this week so rather than drive to the train station or boat pier and i have to say I’m really enjoying it.

That said I’ve not got rained on yet

So here is the girlfriend on her bike by the Thames feeling very happy with her new bike ( and the wicker basket is in the post ) .

…I think I’ll now stop taking pictures of Troopies and find the next thing for me to spend my time photographing.

Picked this up today in a video game store, total impulse buy.

Just picked up my bags to fly back to London and it seems that my carry on luggage is going to be heavier than the thing that i’m checking in !

Here’s what i travel with :

Mac Book Pro 15″ + Power Pack
iPhone ( Gen 1 )
Mouse & Waccom Bamboo graphic tablet
Canon EOS 40D + 17-40mm Lens
Canon 550EX Speedlight Flash
Canon G9 point and shoot
1 x Magazine of choice.. Today that is “Mens Health”

I think it’s time to find a compact camera / computer bag with wheels. When I get to the airport I’ll weigh my carry-on luggage and let you know how much it is….

PS: Does my hard drive get heavy as I fill it up with my travel movies

UPDATE : 7.1Kilo, 7 point bloody 1 kilos ! Time for a Macbook Air I think.

I know, I know.. I did say no more Troopies for a while and I honestly thought I’d be shooting something else, but I’m in the office on a Sunday bored and then it hit me.. I’m in Scotland so what are the boys going to look like in kilts???

Totally inspired by David Hockney ( well worth the Wiki read ).

This is what is known as a Panographic image. Taken with 15 or so images although you can use as many as you want and click away. The difference with these and normal panaroma is that you DO NOT leave your camera on one axis. Movie is about, left, right portrait etc. etc.

The end result is blended in photoshop very easily and this is the kind of thing you get. Not sure I’ll be playing with it too much, however it was nice to have a break from the Troopies

Sometimes I really hate my job. I.T. isn’t all it’s cracked up to be when you are wading knee deep in a shit storm you didn’t create but seems to be your fault ..

Anyway after getting the server room back on line and making sure everything was plugged in and working I was seriously pissed off and ready to leave then I opened my bag to see my Troopies… With a smile I got them out and took a few shots to cheer me up

Server names have been blurred to protect the stupid ..

Suddenly the traffic on my blog has gone through the roof ! Normally i would never have noticed until Nearly Free Speech gave me a balance warning… Never knew anyone other than me was reading this.

Anyway I’m off to top up and thought I’d say WELCOME
